Born in Pembroke, Ontario, Canada. Raised in 14
different cities across North America. Father, Bill played 17 seasons of
professional hockey including playing for the Buffalo Sabres and Los
Angeles Kings.
After his playing career was over he coached the Buffalo Sabres and then
was a coach and general manager for the Toledo Goldiggers and Kalamazoo
Wings in the IHL. Lived in Portage, Michigan from my freshman to senior
years of High School. Graduated from Portage Northern in 1989. Played 3
years of Varsity Hockey for Portage Northern High School. all
conference, all area and honorable mention all state senior year in
Hockey.
Ran cross country and track at PN. Graduated from Hope College in 1993
and ran 4 years of cross country and track. Captain for two years of
each team and also all conference in both sports in senior year.
Academic All American in Cross Country while at Hope College.
Hired as a physical education teacher and head cross country and track
coach at Suttons Bay High School in 1995 and have been employed there
since then. In Cross Country has coached 7 conference championship
teams, 2 regional championship teams and 3 top ten teams at the state
finals including one state runner up team in 2002. In 2002 named the
MITCA state Cross Country Coach of the Year in Michigan.
At least one athlete has qualified for the state finals for the past 11
years including 5 all-state athletes. In Track has coached 4 conference
championship teams, 2 regional championship teams and 3 top 10 teams at
the state finals. In 2003 named a finalist for the MITCA State Track
Coach of the Year in Michigan. At least one male and one female has
qualified for the state finals for the past 10 years, including 4 state
champions and 12 all-state athletes or relay teams. In 1997, named
Athletic Director of Suttons Bay High School.
In 2002 named Regional Athletic Director of the Year for Northern
Michigan and in 2004 Suttons Bay was named the Athletic School of the
Year by the Traverse City Record Eagle Newspaper.
Married to Carrie in 2002, son Reid born in 2004.
Assistant coach for the Reps since 2001, the second year of the program.

KEVIN WESTRICK-Athletic
Trainer |
|
Reps 2007-2008 Kevin Westrick received his Bachelor of Science in
Kinesiology from the University
of Michigan
and became certified as an athletic trainer by the NATABOC in 1994. He
also spent two years at the University
of Houston
pursuing a Master’s of Education in Health and Related Fitness.
Kevin has an extensive background in athletic and
orthopedic injuries. During
his time at the University
of Michigan, he worked with
numerous athletic teams including trips to NCAA Final Fours in ice
hockey and basketball as well as a football bowl game.
Upon completion of his time in Ann Arbor,
Kevin spent two years as a graduate assistant at the
University
of Houston working primarily
with the baseball, football and women’s basketball teams.
He left Houston
to pursue a career opportunity at the
University
of Michigan Health System’s
Med Sport program. During his
10 years there, Kevin held several positions.
He was the head athletic trainer at
Saline
High School, followed by a year
holding the same position with the USA Hockey National Team Development
Program during its inaugural season.
For the next 7 years Kevin worked in the outpatient physical
therapy department providing rehabilitation services to all patient
populations as well as coordinating rehab programs for the physician
clinics.
Outside of work Kevin enjoys coaching football(varsity asst. at Elk
Rapids) and fishing
